FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OTTAWA, CANADA – Wednesday, April 6, 2016
Young Diplomats of Canada (YDC) is proud to send five of Canada's brightest young leaders to attend the 2016 OECD Forum in Paris, France. YDC’s Delegates will bring a Canadian youth perspective to various high-level meetings on May 31st and June 1st, 2016.
Recruited from a large number of highly qualified applicants under the age of 30, the YDC delegation is diverse and equipped to address critical issues within the realm of both Canadian and global macroeconomic policy.
Head Delegate, Gautham Krishnaraj is looking forward to represent Canadian Youth at the OECD Forum, as he believes that the delegation is critical in the implementation of the theme “Sustainable Economies, Inclusive Societies”. He believes that ''as we welcome migrants into their new lives as Canadians, young people and families can play a huge role in ensuring that they feel safe, comfortable and valuable as members of our communities''. Gautham is also enthusiastic to see how governments, business and civil society organizations interact and negotiate at the Forum.
At the OECD Forum, global leaders from around the world will come together to discuss the past and future work of their institutions. YDC Delegates will attend numerous seminars alongside official meetings, engaging with civil society, corporate, and governmental actors on the global economy and the many challenges it still faces today.
Having the opportunity to engage with global leaders provides an opportunity for the youth perspective to be shared at some of the highest levels of global governance. Through YDC’s social media channels, delegates will provide exclusive coverage directly from the Forum.
