FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OTTAWA, CANADA – APRIL 3, 2017
Young Diplomats of Canada (YDC) is excited to announce the selection of a delegation of five of Canada's brightest young leaders to attend the 2017 OECD Forum in Paris, France. From June 5-9, delegates will represent Canadian youth and attend meetings at the OECD headquarters.
The delegation was recruited from a nationally competitive pool of applicants and are equipped to address critical issues including economic growth and financial stability, from both a Canadian and international perspective.
At the OECD Forum, global leaders and civil society will come together to discuss the work of their institutions. This year's forum will be organised around three cross-cutting themes: inclusive growth, digitalisation and trust, while highlighting the importance of working toward more inclusive economies and societies.
YDC Head Delegate, Adam Camenzuli, believes "The core issues presented at the OECD forum are at the heart of some of the largest challenges that Canadian youth face today. The OECD explores the question of youth unemployment - a risk that we need to know how to mitigate if we want to grow a productive labour force for millennials and subsequent generations. The delegation is looking forward to being challenged, inspired and to learning more about ideas for educational reform, renewable energy and the incorporation of digitalization management into schools.""
