FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OTTAWA, CANADA – May 20, 2019

The Young Diplomats of Canada (YDC) is excited to announce that six young Canadian leaders will attend the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Public Forum 2019 from May 20 to 21st in Paris, France.

The 2019 YDC delegation to OECD Public Forum:

  • Fahim Hafizur Rahman, Head Delegate

  • Maryam Musharaf Shah, Communications Coordinator

  • Alexandre Lévesque

  • Palash Ranjan Sanyal

  • Maria Alyssia Jovellanos

  • Callista Nicole Harriet Joyce Ryan

Delegates have been selected after a national competition. The delegation of young professionals have expertise in AI, journalism, law and policy. Together, they will represent the perspectives of Canadian youth in Paris.

This year’s Forum will reflect on how the world is confronting economic and political change, upheaval and disruption, amplified by the dual forces of digitalisation and globalisation. In 2019, the Forum will also celebrate its 20th anniversary. YDC delegates will take part in a global reflection on how a multistakeholder platform for dialogue can help bring about collective solutions to the economic, social, political and environmental challenges we all face today.

At the Public Forum, Delegates will provide a behind the scenes look at deliberations and a series of high-level meetings through YDC social media channels. You can follow the delegation’s live updates via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
