What Brings Us Together: A Discussion with the Young Diplomats of Canada Delegation to the OECD Forum 2018

In May 2018, a group of six young Canadians came together from around the world to serve as Ambassadors of the Young Diplomats of Canada to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Forum 2018 in Paris, France.

The young Canadian leaders met with high-level global leaders and leading thinkers to discuss the most pressing and important policy issues confronting the global economy, while considering the role of young people in helping shape the future.

This year, the OECD Forum focused on responding to the realities of a ‘post-truth world’ by identifying opportunities to heighten civic engagement and co-create policy solutions that actively involve citizens. In that same spirit, we’re very excited to announce that in addition to providing a behind-the scenes look at deliberations over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, YDC delegates also visited Radio Campus Paris to record a podcast.

Listen to YDC’s very first podcast HERE!

Reflecting on the complexity of shaping policy in 2018, Delegates unpack OECD discussions on topics including trade, democracy and voting, housing inequality, digitization, and skills for the future of work.
