Press Release: Young Diplomats of Canada send young Canadian leaders to Tokyo to attend the 2016 Youth 7 Summit

Young Diplomats of Canada (YDC) is proud to send five of Canada's brightest young global leaders to attend the 2016 Youth 7 Summit (Y7) in Tokyo, Japan from April 30th - May 3rd, 2016. YDC’s Ambassadors will represent the Canadian youth and young professionals voice in negotiations with international delegations, with the summit’s final communiqué being delivered to G7 Leaders.

After a highly competitive, national application process from a pool of qualified applicants under the age of 30, the YDC Y7 delegation will address critical issues facing the G7 from both a Canadian and global perspective, and will publish written and video reports about their exclusive experience.

This year, the Japanese Presidency has announced that international security, sustainable development labour and economy will form the core of the G7 agenda.

Head Delegate Julien Geremie declares ‘'as members of the Canadian delegation, we are truly excited to share our insights, expertise and perspectives with the other delegations participating in the Y7 summit in Japan. As leaders of tomorrow, we believe that we will be able to make a difference working in collaboration with other engaged youth. We look forward to sharing our Canadian views and our progressive values while working with the other delegations’’.

The YDC Y7 Delegation, in collaboration with numerous national youth delegations, look forward to developing innovative recommendations that will be presented to the G7 Leaders at Ise-Shima.
