Aisha Imana is a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and an emerging leader in international development and relations. She holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Western Ontario and is currently pursuing a postgraduate business certificate in International Development at Humber Polytechnic.

Aisha brings her equity-based strategic communications expertise to every role she undertakes. As a DEI Intern with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), she led multi-agency initiatives amplifying diverse voices across the UN system. She also represented Young Diplomats of Canada at the 2024 UN Commission on the Status of Women, where she led a parallel event on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and supported the UN Women’s Major Group at the 2024 High-Level Political Forum, crafting impactful communications campaigns advocating for systemic change.

With experience facilitating wellness workshops for women entrepreneurs in Tanzania and spearheading community engagement campaigns in local Canadian contexts, Aisha’s work reflects her commitment to fostering meaningful impact through a decolonized, anti-racist feminist lens.

Aisha is excited to bring her passion for equity-driven storytelling and strategic advocacy to the YDC team, building on her strong connections with civil society organizations and global institutions to tackle pressing global challenges. She believes in cultivating authentic partnerships and empowering diverse voices to drive transformative change.
