Corinne Ibalanky is a proud Congolese-Canadian with a Master’s degree in Intelligence and International Affairs from Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in 2024. Her research, Applying AI to Canada’s Financial Intelligence System: Promises and Perils in Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, explores the application of artificial intelligence to detect and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.

Corinne completed her Honours Bachelor of Commerce in International Management from the University of Ottawa in 2020, where she was named Co-op Student of the Month in February 2020. She represented Uganda in the Economic Matters Committee at the 2018 International Model African Union and served as Vice President of Club Affairs on the student executive committee in 2019.

Currently a senior analyst/advisor with the Government of Canada, Corinne has held various roles in public service. In 2020, she co-founded and co-led the Black Employees Matter (BEM) Network at Health Canada, establishing its structure and priorities to advocate for equity and inclusivity within the organization.

Her international experience includes an internship at the Canadian Embassy in Paris, supporting the Canadian Diplomatic Service Team during the 2019 G7 Summit.
