Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C, Israa Noureddine is a dedicated and passionate advocate for international Human Rights. With a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Global Affairs from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University of Beirut, Israa Noureddine possesses a strong academic foundation in policy analysis, research methodology, and cross-cultural understanding.

Driven by a passion for social justice, Israa Noureddine has gained practical experience in various international organizations, including UNICEF, Global Fund for Women and the United Nations Association of Canada. She has conducted research on child protection issues, analyzed data on feminist movements, and explored refugee affairs and workplace integration. She also worked with several NGO’s during the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon.

Israa Noureddine has a strong interest in international criminal law, having attended the Interuniversity Workshop on International Criminal Law and Procedure and attended the Assembly of State Parties in 2019 that is held yearly in the Hague, Netherlands. She is also an alumna of the United Nations Association Canada’s Building Young Entrepreneurs program, where she further developed her professional skills.

With a passion for professional development, Israa Noureddine served as the Vice President of Professional Development for the UBC MPPGA Student Association, organizing events and workshops to enhance students’ knowledge and skills. During her internship at the Conference Board of Canada she co-hosted and organized a networking event in Ottawa for both governmental and non-governmental summer interns to share experiences and expand their networks.
