Announcing YDC’s Youth Delegations to the CSW69, 2025 HLPF and 2025 WBG-IMF Spring Meetings

We are pleased to announce that the Young Diplomats of Canada are sending youth delegations to represent Canada at international summits taking place this Spring - the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City, the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York City, and the Spring Meetings for the World Bank Group/International Monetary Fund (WBG-IMF) taking place in Washington D.C.

About The Delegations

CSW: The UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and empowerment of women. During the Commission’s annual two-week session, representatives of UN Member States, civil society organizations and UN entities discuss progress, gaps, and further actions in the implementation of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, as well as emerging issues that affect gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will surround the priority theme of: Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.

UNHLPF: The United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is a core UN platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This Forum is held annually in New York, NY at the UN Headquarters. The UN General Assembly decided that the forum meets annually under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. 

The theme for the HLPF 2025 is “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind”.

WBG-IMF: The Annual and Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

YDC Delegates interact with experts from around the world while attending IMF-WBG Summit sessions and participating in meetings with stakeholders. The IMF-WBG Spring Meetings are an exclusive opportunity for Canadian youth to observe and learn from high-level discussions on international trade, finance, and comparative public policy.
