2022 WBG-IMF Spring Meetings Final Report

Executive Overview

The IMF and WBG hold bi-annual meetings to discuss the most pressing global issues. The Spring Meetings are the first installment, with the Annual meetings occurring in the Fall. The two weeks leading up to the formal Spring Meetings is the Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF). This Forum also occurs twice a year at the same time as the Spring and Annual IMF/WBG meetings. The CSPF is a chance for civil society organizations to collaborate and be in dialogue with IMF and WBG staff, and other stakeholders. Many of the CSPF sessions are recorded and available publicly. You can view select IMF recordings here and World Bank recordings here. The Official Spring Meetings were focused on 4 main priorities, as outlined by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva during the opening Parliamentary Townhall: end the war in Ukraine, combat covid-19, tackle inflation and debt, and building resilience. The goals of this delegate were to empower youth to occupy space in conversations involving inequality through a variety of lenses, to intergenerationally encourage sustainability from a holistic perspective - people, planet, profits and to equip people from all sectors to mobilize their environment and workplaces to take direct action.
