Sara Lafond recently completed her MSc in Management, from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, in Lisbon, Portugal. As a Master’s student, she also participated in a project as an intern for the World Food Programme, where she learned about global food systems, health and nutrition. This led her to develop a specific interest in health, nutrition, and sustainability, which was reflected in her thesis, where she studied sustainability in the Portuguese agricultural sector.

With her experience at the World Food Programme, and a background of working in the Quebec healthcare system, Sara aimed to work in the health sector. She began working at the Canadian Cancer Society, as a Strategy and Innovation Coordinator. In her current role, Sara coordinates activities and projects related to innovation in the cancer care continuum, both within the organization as well as with external partners.

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Sara has always had an interest in international affairs and economic development. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, with a major in International Management. During her time at McGill University, she was involved with the McGill Model United Nations (McMun) conferences, as both a delegate and a volunteer to organize events for students attending the conferences.
