Announcing YDC’s 2022 Youth Delegation to the World Trade Organization Public Forum
The delegation will be going to the World Trade Organization Public Forum in Geneva, Switzerland from September 26-30. The primary theme of this year’s event is “Towards a sustainable and inclusive recovery: ambition to action”. Follow the delegation’s journey to learn more about the World Trade Organization (WTO) and some of the important conversations they will be participating in.
The WTO is an organization for trade relations. Its forum is a place for governments to negotiate trade agreements.
Meet the 2022 WTO delegates:
Katherine Tang, Head Delegate
Passionate about climate & development, Katherine works at Energicity, bringing electricity to West Africa via solar energy. Previously, at BCG, she advised Canadian pension funds on climate strategy.
Amira Shousha, Communications Coordinator
Amira Shousha is an ACGC Top 30 Under 30 Recipient and the Founder of “The Youth Guide”. Amira is invested in using her degree in Psychology, Sociology and Political Science to advocate for Canadian Youth at the WTO.
Anna Wong, Delegate
Anna Wong is a JD candidate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Massey College Junior Fellow. Her research focuses on issues of access to medicines at the intersection of trade, intellectual property, and corruption.
Akash Jain, Delegate
Akash Jain is an incoming JD/MPP candidate at UofT. He recently graduated from Western with a BA in PPE as a National President’s Scholar. Akash is excited to leverage his policy background to effectively advocate for Canadians at the WTO.
Sydney Pagan, Delegate
Sydney is a Policy Analyst at Employment and Social Development Canada. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and a bachelor’s from StFX University.
