Y20 2021 YDC Delegation Report on Digitalization, Innovation and Future of Work

On June 6, 2021, the Canadian Delegation to the Y20 and the Young Diplomats of Canada invited young leaders to participate in a focus group to inform the policy track of Digitalization, Innovation and the Future of Work.

This summary report details the aggregated outcomes and policy solutions of this session. Participants were concerned with the ability of today's young people to transition into the modern workforce, which often requires multiple credentials and previous experience for entry-level positions. Further, access to the internet and inclusive infrastructure for servicing remote communities were highlighted as barriers to labour force participation.
