2020 Y7 Delegation Report

At this year’s Youth 7 (Y7) summit, which took place from June 1 to June 5, 2020, in a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada was represented by Kirtbir Chahal, Carla Guillaume, Rahul Pallan, and Mojann Zibapour. Delegates contributed to and negotiated recommendations across four policy tracks: Education and Jobs, Energy, Global Connectivity and Trade, and Peace and Security. Through a national online survey and virtual focus groups with Canadian youth, the delegation pushed for an inclusive communique, including key considerations for Indigenous populations, and the most vulnerable communities across G7 countries.
