2021 Youth 20 Summit Report

The Y20 is a forum for developing cooperation between future generations, and provides a platform for young people to have their voices heard on relevant G20 agenda issues. As a formal engagement group of the G20, it provides a collaborative space for youth delegations to influence the policy directions and discussions of the Leaders’ Summit as representing hundreds of millions of voices across the G20 nations.  This year’s Y20 Summit took place virtually in Italy from July 19 to 23rd, 2021.

Three Canadian youth represented Canada at this year’s Y20 Summit hosted by Italy. Laura Bradbury (Head Delegate), Jamilah Bahay (Engagement Coordinator) and Keely Bass (Communications Coordinator) each led on a specific priority area of the Summit, participating, consulting and negotiating actively for over 9 months starting in February of 2020. Their respective priority areas were Digitalization, Innovation and the Future of Work, Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy, and Inclusion and Equal Opportunities

This document summarizes the milestones and achievements of their participation.
