Y20 2021 YDC Delegation Report on Inclusion and Equal Opportunities

On June 13, 2021, the Canadian Delegation to the Y20 and the Young Diplomats of Canada invited young leaders to participate in a focus group to inform the policy track of "Inclusion & Equal Opportunities". This summary report details the aggregated outcomes and policy solutions of

this session.

Given the results of the Y20 Survey, the focus group discussion centred on some of the top priorities for

Canadian youth: promoting the career advancement of underrepresented groups, accessibility and mental

health support. Participants were concerned with the level of inclusion and accessibility in modern workplaces, with discrimination as a common theme. Mental health stigma was noted as a significant barrier to accessing appropriate support and care.
